OTD is industry’s link to hundreds of promising Harvard technologies available for licensing. The office establishes sponsored research collaborations, license agreements and new ventures with the goal of fostering enduring, mutually beneficial partnerships with industry. OTD takes pride in its professionalism, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work at a pace fully on par with industry, as well as understanding the needs and perspectives of industry. Our team approach makes the deal-making process as efficient and effective as possible, providing a solid foundation for strong, enduring relationships with our industrial partners. We:

• grant licenses for patented and copyrighted inventions to existing and startup companies that are capable, technically and financially, of developing early-stage technology into commercially successful products
• partner with companies in a collaborative, win-win manner to develop and deploy new technology
• are industry’s point of access to Harvard technologies and discoveries in the life sciences, engineering, physical sciences and computer science developed by faculty at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
• provide access to a high-performance team of professionals with a broad range of expertise in business development, licensing, intellectual property and contract law
