Welcome to the Harvard OTD Collaborative Research OPportunity Finder (CROP Finder) website, a new tool that will assist those working in the life science industry to explore commercial partnerships, such as industry sponsored research, with the talented research faculty at Harvard.
The research being carried out at Harvard is world renowned, encompassing a broad spectrum of traditional and more contemporary disciplines, such as systems biology, biofuels, vaccines, advanced DNA sequencing technologies, bioengineering and biomaterials, and high throughput screening for novel therapeutics to treat a variety of illnesses. Numerous practical applications can be envisioned being derived from these exciting avenues of research, and in this post-genomic era of scientific discovery, the process of moving discoveries from the lab bench to the marketplace is accelerating swiftly.
As part of the mission of Harvard to disseminate discoveries and information for the public good, we at the Harvard OTD are striving to promote increased collaborations and interactions between Harvard laboratories and all types of life science companies, foundations, and entrepreneurs.
The CROP Finder was designed to enable users to quickly hone in on research opportunities of interest. Users can access laboratory profiles that highlight the research focus, core competences, unique resources, and, of particular relevance, the significant practical applications that may arise from discoveries made in the laboratory.
The CROP Finder allows users to search for opportunities by a variety of approaches, including text search, customized keywords (which have been generated for each laboratory), or principal investigator. Use the My Favorites option to consolidate research profiles of interest into one file that can be printed or emailed to others. And consider the CROP Finder as an open invitation from your life science colleagues at the Harvard OTD to contact us with any questions or inquiries. We are here to assist you in your efforts to identify exciting collaborative research opportunities with the exceptional laboratories at Harvard and to follow these through by putting together creative arrangements that allow you to maximize the benefit of collaborations with Harvard.
